A Bit of Our Story

The first freaks pioneers met in April 2014, on the first swing dance workshop in Koper. Later they started to meet and dance on their own, practicing each Friday evening in local bars and during the summer on the beach. In the meantime they started going to classes in Ljubljana, festivals at home and abroad, improving and expanding their swing dances. The love for the swing culture prompted them to share this love with more people on the coast, so The Swing Freaks was established.
Since then the passion for this world of dance and music spreaded along the coast, reaching Trieste, where now the Association is formally based.

The Swing Freaks Today

The Swing Freaks exists and continues to thrive because of the energy and vision of many individuals who contribute to the community.

Excellent teachers from Ljubljana complete the picture, joining us with their expertise and passion to satisfy our desire to learn and grow

The Swing Freaks is now active throughout the Trieste-Koper coastal region, with the main base being Trieste. We organize classes, swing practice evenings, dance parties, concerts, festivals and picnics. And whenever possible we like to show the world the beauty of swing and jazz dance!
